Can select gears with engine off. Clutch pedal can go up and down, but seems to not disengage clutch. Only time I've seen that was where the clutch pressure plate fingers had failed, or the clutch fork had failed. Both needed gearbox off to investigate further, so I'm definitely up for other suggestions. V.

If it wont fire i cant imagine it being a compression problem not unless the engine has had a praticial cease on some of the piston . i would check the cam timing . check the pressure on the high pressure pump when cranking the engine over . You will need a laptop and fiat multiscan which costs about 50 euro . This is were you should really start .

If as seems likely the turbo oil seals had gone oil would end up in the pipe work, intercooler and exhaust, and that's what you are seeing dripping out, getting it out is going to be a bit difficult, I would start by. taking the pipes off the intercooler and having a look for oil there, cleaning as much as you can

At about 73,000 miles it would cut out for a split second every 8-15 miles. the engine light and various warning lights would come on. Eventually it died completely.
